I lead TEPCON Construction, a 100% employee-owned Arizona commercial general contractor helping facility managers, property managers, brokers, developers and business owners complete tenant improvements, Facility Construction Services and occupied-environment renovations without disrupting ongoing operations. From a small repair to a complex phased renovation, our job is the same: listen first, communicate clearly and do what we say we will do. TEPCON self-performs electrical, framing, drywall and painting, giving clients better control of schedule, quality and responsiveness. I started in construction at 14, sweeping floors for my father's company. I also became highly skilled at screwing up break orders, carrying material and learning the business the hard way. More than 40 years later, I'm still learning. I've been a laborer, estimator, safety director, project manager, business developer, executive, mentor, author and entrepreneur. Every role taught me the same lesson: Construction isn't really about buildings. It's about people. The clients who trust you. The employees who count on you. The trade partners who show up every day. The communities impacted by the work.
